Work Safety Technician

This position ensures the physical integrity of employees and compliance with occupational safety legislation, implementing preventive and corrective practices through training, inspections, technical analysis and risk control in all areas of the company, covering direct operations and administrative support.

Description

Main activities:

  • Carries out safety integration for new employees and third parties, whenever there are new hires, through face-to-face training and educational materials, to ensure prior knowledge of the company’s standards and safe practices.
  • Delivers, controls, requests the purchase of and validates the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on a daily basis, using spreadsheets and checklists, to ensure proper use, preventive replacement and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Conducts daily safety dialogues (DDS) with operational teams, in person at work stations, with the aim of reinforcing good practices, preventing accidents and maintaining constant awareness.
  • Controls emissions of pollutants and waste generated in the production process on a monthly basis, through environmental reports and technical monitoring, in order to keep the company within legal standards and minimize environmental impacts.
  • Investigates accidents and incidents at work whenever they occur, using methods such as cause trees or Ishikawa diagrams to identify contributing factors, propose corrective actions and prevent recurrences.
  • Coordinates and participates in internal audits and training for internal safety auditors every six months, based on regulatory and management criteria, to assess compliance and promote continuous improvement of the safety system.
  • Performs risk analysis on critical processes and operations on a regular basis, using tools such as APR (Preliminary Risk Analysis) and risk matrix, to anticipate hazards and implement effective control measures.
  • Provides first aid in the event of an accident or incident in the workplace, whenever necessary, acting as a first aider until medical assistance arrives, with a focus on preserving life and reducing complications.
  • Periodically checks the correct use of PPE and CPE (Collective Protection Equipment) on a weekly basis, using checklists in the field, to ensure that protective measures are being applied and that the NRs are being complied with.
  • Provides training on NRs (Regulatory Norms), according to the needs of each position, on a regular basis, with the aim of ensuring that all employees are trained and aware of the specific safety requirements of their jobs, promoting a safe and healthy working environment.
  • It promotes internal campaigns and safety awareness training every month, focusing on topics such as accident prevention, ergonomics, the environment and quality of life at work.

 

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the main Regulatory Norms (NRs) applicable to the industrial sector (NR-10, NR-11, NR-12, NR-17, NR-20, among others)
  • Active registration with the Ministry of Labor and Employment (MTE)
  • Training as an NR training multiplier, with knowledge of applying and adapting training according to the needs of each position
  • Knowledge of pollutant control, waste and basic environmental legislation
  • Ability to carry out risk analysis, accident investigations and prepare technical reports
  • Ability to conduct training, internal audits and safety integration
  • Training in First Aid and working as a first aider
  • Familiarity with tools such as APR, Risk Map, PGR and eSocial SST
